DTF Print Technician

About Us
We are a fast growing e-commerce business supplying products across multiple online marketplaces. As we continue to invest in our production capabilities, we're expanding our DTF printing department and are looking for an experienced DTF Print Technician to take ownership of this area.
This isn't simply a printer operator role. We're looking for someone who takes pride in producing exceptional print quality, maintaining specialist equipment, and ensuring our DTF department runs efficiently every day.
The Role
As our DTF Print Technician, you will be responsible for the day to day operation of our Epson printhead DTF printing system. You will oversee all print production, maintain the equipment to the highest standard, and ensure consistent, high quality output.
You will become the technical expert for our DTF department, taking ownership of both production and machine maintenance to minimise downtime and maximise print quality.
Key Responsibilities
Operate our DTF printing system to produce high quality prints.
Prepare and organise daily print jobs using RIP software.
Build efficient gang sheets to maximise film usage.
Ensure all print runs meet our quality standards.
Carry out daily, weekly and monthly machine maintenance.
Perform nozzle checks, head cleans and preventative maintenance.
Monitor print quality and troubleshoot issues quickly.
Maintain white ink circulation and prevent printhead blockages.
Ensure the printer is always production ready.
Maintain a clean, organised and safe print room.
Monitor stock levels of inks, film, powder and cleaning consumables.
Record maintenance activities and report any faults promptly.
Work closely with the wider production team to meet dispatch deadlines.
Continuously look for ways to improve print quality and production efficiency.
Essential Skills & Experience
Previous experience operating a commercial DTF printer.
Experience working with Epson printhead based DTF printers.
Experience using Maintop RIP software, or similar DTF RIP software.
Understanding of gang sheet creation and print preparation.
Experience generating and adjusting white underbases.
Understanding of choke settings and print optimisation.
Experience carrying out routine machine maintenance and preventative servicing.
Strong attention to detail.
Good organisational and time management skills.
Ability to work independently and take ownership of your department.
Desirable Skills
Experience with colour matching and colour management.
Experience troubleshooting print quality issues.
Knowledge of DTF curing and powder application processes.
Experience working within a commercial print or garment decoration environment.
