Job Summary

The Senior Accounts Assistant will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the business, ensuring the accurate processing of financial transactions, maintaining financial records, and assisting with reporting and month-end activities. The role requires a highly organised and detail-oriented individual with strong accounts payable, credit control, and reconciliation experience, as well as the ability to identify and implement process improvements within the finance function.

Duties

Manage the purchase ledger function, ensuring supplier invoices are processed accurately and in a timely manner.
Prepare and process supplier payment runs, ensuring all payments are made within agreed terms.
Reconcile supplier statements and investigate and resolve any discrepancies.
Support credit control activities by monitoring customer accounts, chasing outstanding payments, and reducing aged debt.
Process financial transactions, including invoices, payments, receipts, journals, and ledger adjustments.
Perform account reconciliations, including supplier, customer, bank, and general ledger reconciliations.
Respond promptly and professionally to supplier and customer queries.
Work collaboratively with colleagues across the business to ensure the smooth running of financial processes.
Undertake any other finance-related duties as reasonably required by management.

Experience

Previous experience in a Senior Accounts Assistant or similar finance role.
Strong knowledge of purchase ledger, accounts payable, credit control, and account reconciliations.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong organisational and time management skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Full Time, Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm
