Job Overview

We are seeking a reliable Material Handler to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for efficiently managing the movement, storage, and distribution of materials within our warehouse environment. This role is vital to ensuring smooth operations, timely shipping and receiving, and maintaining a well-organised workspace. The position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with warehouse experience or mechanical knowledge to develop their skills further in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

Load and unload materials using appropriate equipment, including forklifts and manual handling techniques
Operate warehouse management systems to track inventory levels and update records accurately
Handle materials safely, ensuring proper storage and organisation within designated areas
Assist in shipping and receiving processes, preparing items for dispatch or receipt
Conduct routine inspections of equipment and materials to identify potential issues or damages
Collaborate with team members to optimise workflow and maintain a clean, safe working environment
Support in inventory counts and stock replenishment activities as required
Follow health and safety guidelines diligently during all handling procedures

Skills

Proven experience in warehouse operations or materials handling is preferred
Valid forklift licence and experience operating forklift machinery safely
Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) or similar software applications
Mechanical knowledge beneficial for troubleshooting equipment issues
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently over extended periods
Construction experience advantageous for understanding material specifications and handling techniques
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail for accurate record keeping
Excellent teamwork and communication skills to coordinate effectively within a busy environment
