Look no further! We are looking to appoint a motivated and professional Building Control Surveyor to join our busy and dynamic Building Control team.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering a high-quality service, ensuring compliance with Building Regulations and contributing to the safety and development of the built environment.
As part of a supportive and forward-thinking team, you will be involved in a varied workload including plan checking and site inspections, while supporting the delivery of the Building Safety Act requirements. This is a career grade post, offering progression opportunities depending on your qualifications and experience.
What the role involves:
- Taking the lead on assessing and reporting on plans, building notices and applications, ensuring full compliance with Building Regulations and associated legislation
- Carrying out site inspections across a varied portfolio of projects, making sure developments are built safely, correctly and to approved standards
- Proactively identifying and investigating non-compliant work, supporting enforcement action and preparing reports where required
- Acting as a trusted expert, providing clear, practical advice to customers, stakeholders and members of the public
- Playing a key role in delivering Building Safety Regulator (BSR) requirements, working collaboratively within multi-disciplinary teams
- Building strong working relationships with internal colleagues, external partners and regulatory bodies to deliver an effective service
- Contributing to team meetings, projects and your own ongoing professional development to stay at the forefront of the profession.
What were looking for:
- An experienced Building Control Surveyor, ideally registered as a Class 2A Registered Building Inspector (RBI)
- A strong understanding of Building Regulations and associated legislation
- Ability to work independently, use initiative and manage a varied workload
- Excellent communication skills with a customer-focused approach
- A flexible, enthusiastic and professional attitude to work.
