About Us
Northallerton Osteopaths is part of the Hale House Group. This group of clinics is comprised of Northallerton Osteopaths and Easingwold Osteopaths.
Northallerton Osteopaths was established in 1994. It is the largest multi-disciplinary complementary healthcare clinic in North Yorkshire, with 16 practitioners boasting over 200 years of clinical experience. In 2024, we were awarded the UK Practice of the Year (Large Practice) by the Institute of Osteopathy. Easingwold Osteopaths was established in 2009 as a satellite clinic of the Northallerton practice.
The two clinic directors, both osteopaths, also run Hale House Management, a company which oversees the maintenance of the building and hiring of the office spaces and studio.
All our associate practitioners are highly qualified, regulated, and insured by their respective professional bodies. The Role of Clinic Receptionist (Northallerton)
Hours: 19hrs/week plus holiday/sickness cover as required, which may include providing cover at our Easingwold clinic
Mon: 8:30am-1:30pm (5hrs); Weds 10:30am-7:30pm (9hrs); Thurs 8:30am-1:30pm (5hrs)
Rate of Pay: £13.50/hr
Overview
Our receptionists play a crucial role in the smooth day to day running of the clinic. They are the ‘face’ of the clinic and set the tone for the positive experiences that our patients enjoy.
They are responsible for administrative support including (but not limited to) answering telephone enquiries; booking appointments; responding to email enquiries; taking payments; using our patient note filing systems; practitioner diary management; creating invoices; simple stock taking and end of day financial reconciliation.
Our receptionists ensure that our practitioners are enabled to work efficiently. They are designated key holders for the building and responsible for the security of the building at the end of the day.
You must have excellent organisational and communication skills. The clinic support team work together across both clinic sites to ensure efficiency and productivity. This is a fast-paced role that requires teamwork, initiative and creativity.
Responsibilities & Expectations
- Enables the smooth operation of the clinic by supporting the clinical associates to work efficiently and effectively.
- Ensure that they follow office policies and procedures to maintain efficiency and order in the workplace, including stock control; diary administration; and reconciliation of day accounts;
- Ensures that the clinic is complying with the mandatory healthcare regulations, laws (including health and safety regulations), and ethical standards.
- Efficiently uses the clinic software used for medical records.
- Coordinates with clinic associates within the clinic to optimise communication.
- Administration of clinic bookings, including invoicing and issuing receipts.
- Undertake ad hoc administrative tasks as requested by the Practice Manager or Directors
- Willing to work reasonable additional hours to provide cover for colleagues in the Reception team during holidays and sickness absence as requested.
- Provide support to the Clinic Directors and Clinic & Practice Manager in making them aware of any health & safety, administrative, or patient care feedback or issues as soon as they arise.
- Commit to continuing their own professional development, supporting the growth and development of the clinic by attending staff meetings & undertaking training as required.

Qualifications & Experience
- Must have at least two years of work experience in public facing administrative environment.
- Should be knowledgeable of the Microsoft Windows environment.
- Familiarity of working with diary management systems.
- Must have driving license and access to a car- may be required to work at the Easingwold clinic
Renumeration & Benefits
- £13.50/hr, Contracted 19hrs/week with an expectation of being available for overtime for holiday and sickness cover.
- 5.6 weeks holiday/ year.
