Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our dynamic development team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining innovative software solutions across various platforms. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on complex application development projects, utilise cutting-edge technologies, and contribute to the ongoing success of our organisation. Candidates should possess a strong background in software engineering principles, with proficiency in multiple programming languages and frameworks.

Duties

Lead the design and implementation of scalable, high-performance software applications using languages such as JavaScript, Java, C#, Python, C++, and Ruby on Rails.
Develop and maintain robust APIs and integrate third-party services to enhance application functionality.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
Utilise version control systems including Git, SVN, and GitHub to manage code repositories effectively.
Conduct code reviews, optimise existing codebases, and ensure adherence to best practices in software development.
Implement automation processes within cloud environments such as AWS and Azure to streamline deployment workflows.
Write efficient SQL queries for MySQL and SQL Server databases; manage database schema changes and optimise performance.
Develop front-end components using modern JavaScript frameworks while ensuring seamless user experiences.
Maintain Linux-based development environments and utilise tools like VBA for specialised automation tasks.
Ensure application security, scalability, and reliability through rigorous testing and optimisation techniques.
Document technical specifications, system architecture diagrams, and user guides for ongoing maintenance.

Qualifications

Proven experience in software development with a strong portfolio of successful projects.
Proficiency in multiple programming languages including JavaScript, Java, C#, Python, C++, Ruby on Rails, C, and VBA is highly desirable.
Extensive knowledge of front-end development frameworks and RESTful API design principles.
Familiarity with version control systems such as Git, SVN, GitHub, and organisational workflows.
Experience working within cloud platforms like AWS and Azure; understanding of cloud deployment models is advantageous.
Strong understanding of database management systems including MySQL and SQL Server; ability to optimise queries effectively.
Knowledge of Linux operating systems for development purposes; experience with automation tools is a plus.
Excellent problem-solving skills coupled with the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
Relevant qualifications in Computer Science or related fields are preferred but not essential if demonstrated through practical experience. This role offers an engaging environment where innovation is encouraged, professional growth is supported, and technical expertise is valued highly.

Pay: £55,000.00-£60,000.00 per year
