IT Infrastructure Engineer
Key Areas of Responsibility, Duties and Deliverables Expected:
Responsibilities:

Support, maintain, and administer core IT infrastructure environments including servers, storage, virtualisation platforms, cloud services, and backup systems.
-
Ensure the availability, performance, reliability, and security of infrastructure systems across all business locations.
-
Manage and support Microsoft-based environments including Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Entra ID, and related technologies.
-
Monitor infrastructure performance and proactively identify opportunities for improvement, optimisation, and risk reduction.
-
Support cybersecurity initiatives including patch management, vulnerability remediation, endpoint protection, MFA, identity management, and access controls.

Assist with the design, implementation, and maintenance of disaster recovery and business continuity solutions.

Support infrastructure-related projects including ERP implementations, system upgrades, migrations, cloud adoption, and site integrations.

Work closely with service desk, network, and application support teams to ensure effective end-to-end service delivery.

Investigate and resolve infrastructure incidents, problems, and technical escalations within agreed service levels.

Maintain accurate technical documentation including infrastructure diagrams, configurations, standards, and operational procedures.

Manage relationships with third-party suppliers, support providers, and technology partners where required.

Participate in change management activities to ensure infrastructure changes are properly assessed, tested, documented, and implemented.

Technical Skills & Experience

Experience supporting enterprise IT infrastructure environments.

Strong knowledge of:

Virtualisation platforms (VMware and Hyper-V)

Backup and recovery technologies

Storage technologies

Endpoint management

Basic networking principles
-
Experience supporting cloud and hybrid infrastructure environments.

Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.

Experience working within structured IT support or ITIL-based environments.
Desirable:

Experience with Azure cloud technologies.

Experience with cybersecurity platforms such as CrowdStrike, Defender, or similar tools.

Experience with Palo Alto Firewalls.
-
Knowledge of Zero Trust security principles.
-
Experience supporting manufacturing or multi-site environments.
-
Exposure to automation and scripting technologies such as PowerShell.

Relevant certifications such as:
