Full job description

Overview
Join our compassionate team as a Care Assistant and make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals requiring support with daily activities and personal care. In this vital role, you will provide attentive, respectful, and personalized care to residents across assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or community-based settings. Your dedication will help promote independence, dignity, and well-being for those you serve. This paid position offers an enriching opportunity to develop your caregiving skills while working in a supportive environment committed to excellence.

Responsibilities

Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure residents’ health status is maintained
Support medication administration following prescribed protocols and document accurately using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems
Provide compassionate Alzheimer's and dementia care, implementing memory care strategies to enhance residents’ comfort and safety
Help with meal preparation, feeding assistance, and maintaining a clean and safe living environment
Use specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts for safe transfers and mobility assistance
Engage residents in social activities and behavioral management techniques to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being

Requirements

Prior experience in senior care, nursing homes, assisted living, or home & community care is highly desirable
Knowledge of vital signs monitoring, medication administration, dementia care, and behavior management techniques
Certification or training in first aid is preferred; willingness to obtain if not already certified
Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities is advantageous
Ability to operate EMR systems accurately and efficiently
Valid driver’s license for driving responsibilities related to home & community care or group home settings
Strong interpersonal skills with a caring attitude and excellent communication abilities
