Full job description

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Laser Operator to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating laser cutting equipment to produce high-quality components in a fast-paced environment. This role requires a strong understanding of fabrication processes, mechanical knowledge, and proficiency with various tools and software. The Laser Operator will play a vital part in ensuring precision, safety, and efficiency throughout production.

Duties

Operate and monitor laser cutting machines to produce precise components according to technical specifications.
Set up equipment, including programming and adjusting parameters using CAD software and programmable logic controllers.
Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting of laser machinery to ensure optimal performance.
Interpret technical drawings and blueprints created in SolidWorks or similar CAD programmes.
Handle materials safely, including loading, unloading, and stacking raw materials and finished products.
Utilise hand tools, tooling, and welding equipment as needed for assembly or finishing processes.
Perform quality checks on finished parts to ensure adherence to specifications and standards.
Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times.
Assist with materials handling within the warehouse or production floor as required.

Experience

Proven experience in fabrication, machining, or manufacturing environments is essential.
Training will be provided on the machinery although previous experience in a similar role is essential
Familiarity with CAD programmes such as SolidWorks and knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
Experience with milling, welding, assembly, and the use of hand tools is highly desirable.
Knowledge of materials handling techniques and tooling management.
Basic mathematical skills for measurements and calculations related to production tasks.
Previous warehouse experience or involvement in materials logistics is advantageous.
Mechanical aptitude with an understanding of mechanical systems and fabrication processes is preferred.
