Full job description

Job Title: Medical Receptionist / Administrator (Part-Time)

Location: Crown Medical Centre, Taunton
Hours: Up to 30 hours per week (2 positions available)

We are looking for two enthusiastic, organised and motivated Receptionist/Administrators to join our friendly team. If you enjoy helping people, thrive in a busy environment and want a role where every day is different, we'd love to hear from you.

About us

Crown Medical Centre is a friendly, forward-thinking GP practice caring for approximately 10,000 patients in Taunton. Our experienced multidisciplinary team includes five GP partners, two salaried GPs, Nurses, HCAs and a dedicated team of receptionists and administrators who work together to provide high-quality, patient-centred care.

About the role

As one of the first points of contact for our patients, you'll play an important role in ensuring they receive a professional, welcoming and efficient service.

This is a varied position combining reception and administration duties. You'll work closely with clinicians and colleagues to support the smooth running of the practice while helping patients access the care they need.

Your duties will include:

Welcoming patients and visitors
Answering telephone enquiries
Booking and managing appointments
Registering new patients
Processing prescription requests
Managing clinical correspondence and patient records
Scanning and uploading documents
Liaising with clinicians, pharmacies and other healthcare providers
Maintaining patient confidentiality at all times
Providing flexible support across the reception and administration team
Summarising patient medical records

About you

We are looking for individuals with a positive attitude who enjoy working with people and are keen to learn.

Has excellent customer service and communication skills
Is organised with excellent attention to detail
Can remain calm under pressure and manage a varied workload
Enjoys working as part of a team
Is confident using computers and learning new systems
Is committed to providing excellent patient care

Previous experience in a GP practice or NHS setting is desirable but not essential. Previous use of EMIS Web would be an advantage, however full training and ongoing support will be provided for the right candidates.
