Craig is a Team Leader for Clifton Homecare. He regularly tells people he loves his job. He joined Clifton Homecare from another care company and comes to work each day looking forward to the day ahead. No 2 days are the same and Craig particularly enjoys the fact that no 2 days are the same and he loves supporting clients during a period of being unwell and after a fall; ensuring appropriate care is sought and that health is improved again. Clifton Homecare are looking for Team Leaders like Craig who are just as passionate.
Craig usually works 35 - 40 hours a week, supporting a number of regular clients to remain living independently and living their best lives at home. He also provides support and training to the rest of our skilled care team as well as on call assistance and supporting the management team with the safe running of the business.
Craig says it feels like a privilege that he is able to build relationships with his clients, who he often feels are like his family. He feels that he gets so much more out of the work that he puts in and it doesn’t even feel like he is coming to work. A client who he sees on a regular basis is Hugh. Craig helps Hugh with aspects of personal care, medication needs, preparation of meals and drinks and general help around the home.
Hugh loves having Craig come and help him and says :“Craig is just like the son I never had. I think of him as part of my own family and have built such a good relationship with him over the years. I couldn't be without him and he helps me so much to stay in my own home.”
Craig regularly tells people that he loves his job. He often says it's the most rewarding job he has ever had and comes to work each day with a smile on his face. He says:
"You're not here for an easy ride but it's the most rewarding job and you do smile every day. There's a lot more to it than people think."
