Employment type: Part Time (3 days) Maternity cover / 12-month contract, with possibility of developing into a full-time role.

Hours per week: Present office operating hours are Monday – Friday 08:00 – 15:30. Flexibility available on working days and hours to suit parental responsibilities / options for different working schedules.

Established in Southport in 1975, Nationwide Produce began as a local produce merchant and has grown into one of the UK’s largest, longest-established, and most diverse fresh produce companies.

With over 300 employees and a group turnover of £205 million, we serve more than 1,000 customers throughout Europe, 365 days a year. Operating across all market sectors—food service, catering, processing, wholesale, export, and retail—we supply a comprehensive range of vegetables, fruit, and exotics from around the world.

The Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-paced and growing business as an office administrator, supporting the accounts department at our head office in Southport and driving continuous improvement across the organisation.

The Role

· Preparation of monthly purchase/sales day books

· Preparation of monthly management accounts using Sage 50 accounting software and Microsoft excel

· Data Input

· Other office duties including filing and fielding incoming phone calls

· Liaise with and carry out any other tasks required by the line manager

· Maintain good working relations with a wide range of contacts both internal and external to the business.

· Able to work as part of a designated team and supportive to other team members including willingness to cover duties in times of absence and holidays.

· Able to work unsupervised and under own initiative.

· Able to complete jobs in a timely manner.

· High-level accuracy and attention to detail.

· Ability to deal with sensitive information with discretion and to maintain confidentiality at all times.

· Able to communicate effectively.

· Flexible, positive and outgoing approach to work.

· The ability to work as part of a busy team and communicate effectively and the ability to work on their own initiative.

· Be contactable at all times during working hours.

· Follow and adhere to all parts of the staff handbook.
