Vacancy: Technician – Carbon Fibre Manufacturing

Location: Blackpool

Hours: Full Time, part time will be considered

Type: Fixed term contract for 6 months - 12 months

Salary: £27,352 based on 40 hours

Summary of Business:

At Multi Ply Components Ltd, we have over 35 years of experience at the forefront of carbon fibre manufacturing. We proudly support the med-tech industry by supplying advanced, life-changing x-ray imaging components to leading global medical corporations. Our expertise extends to supporting the wider composites sectors producing unique, high-performance engineered components and assemblies for Marine, Automotive and wider industrial applications.

Summary of Role:

Reporting to the Value Stream Leader and working as part of a supportive team, the Technician would be responsible for manufacturing a wide range of complex parts.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

· Layering pre-cut, pre-preg sheets of material on to an aluminium tool to create a specific component for a customer (referred to as “Laminating”)

· Following specific work instructions and Standard Operating Procedures (with full training provided by an experienced Laminator)

· Preparing laminated components for the autoclave; this involves wrapping the component in protective material and positioning in a vacuum bag

· Assisting with loading and unloading Autoclave as and when required

· Inspecting completed components to ensure they meet the required standard before they leave the department

· Ensuring that the components are properly protected for transportation to the next department

· Responsible for maintaining all tools to a satisfactory condition and always ensuring adherence to health and safety requirements

· Maintaining a safe and clean working environment

· Governance and compliance to company policies; all statutory regulations, QHSE and HR procedures.

· Naturally detail-oriented and reliable

· Listens well and follows both verbal and written instructions

· Always keen to learn new skills and improve

· Comfortable and safe using hand tools such as scissors and retractable knives

· Communicates clearly and positively with others
