Job Summary

We are seeking an energetic and dedicated Shift Runner and Barista to join our vibrant team. In this dynamic role, you will be the heartbeat of our café, ensuring smooth daily operations while delivering exceptional service to our customers. As a Shift Runner and Barista, you'll combine your passion for coffee with leadership skills to create a welcoming environment, manage the flow of service, and uphold food safety standards. Your enthusiasm and efficiency will help us serve high-quality beverages and food with a smile, making every guest’s experience memorable.

Responsibilities

Lead the team during your shift, coordinating tasks to ensure efficient service and a positive atmosphere
Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and food items with precision and care
Maintain strict adherence to food safety protocols and cleanliness standards throughout the shift
Assist customers with menu selections, answer questions, and provide outstanding service to foster loyalty
Oversee daily opening and closing procedures, including cash handling, inventory checks, and restocking supplies
Support food preparation tasks such as assembling sandwiches or snacks when needed
Manage time effectively to ensure all customer orders are fulfilled promptly while maintaining quality standards

Requirements

Proven experience as a Barista or in food service, with a strong understanding of beverage preparation and serving techniques
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in handling perishable items
Ability to perform basic math calculations for cash handling and inventory management accurately
Excellent time management skills to prioritise tasks during busy periods
Strong communication skills to engage with customers and team members effectively
Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role is preferred but not required
A positive attitude, reliability, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences
