We’re looking for a proactive, hardworking Yard Operative to join our team and help us take Aspland Van Hire to the next level.
The Role
This is a varied, hands-on position. The majority of your time will be spent outdoors ensuring our fleet is maintained to the highest standard with vehicle cleaning and our yard remains clean, organised and professional. You will also support the office team during busy periods by assisting with customer enquiries and bookings.
As this role is predominantly based outside, you must be comfortable working in all weather conditions.
Key Responsibilities
* Clean and prepare vans to a consistently high standard ready for customer collection.
* Carry out daily vehicle inspections, including:
Oil, coolant and screen wash level checks.
* Tyre tread depth and tyre pressure checks.
* Reporting any vehicle defects or damage.
* Move vehicles safely around the yard and between parking locations.
* Maintain a clean, tidy and well-organised yard.
* Ensure vehicles are parked efficiently and ready for the day’s bookings.
* Deliver excellent customer service when handing over or receiving vehicles.
* Assist with telephone calls, responding to emails and processing vehicle hire bookings when required.
* Work closely with colleagues to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the business.
* Carry out any other reasonable duties to support the operation.

Essential Requirements
* Full UK Driving Licence with D1 entitlement (essential).
* Comfortable driving a variety of vans and minibuses.
* Physically fit and able to undertake a hands-on role.
* Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings and weekends.
Working Hours
This is a 40-hour per week position.
We are pushing the business forward to open 7 days a week from 8:00am to 8:00pm, therefore flexibility is essential.
The role includes:
* Working 3 out of every 4 weekends, with one weekend off each month.
* Days off will be provided during the week where applicable.
* Some shifts will finish at 8:00pm.

Pay: £30,000.00-£33,000.00 per year
