Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Roofer to join our professional team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining roofs on various types of buildings. This role requires a strong understanding of roofing techniques, safety procedures, and the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team. The position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about construction and building maintenance to develop their skills within a reputable organisation.

Duties

Install new roofs on residential and commercial properties, ensuring all materials are correctly fitted and secured.
Repair damaged or ageing roofing structures, including replacing shingles, tiles, or metal sheets as necessary.
Conduct inspections of roofs to assess damage or wear and recommend appropriate repair solutions.
Prepare work sites by setting up scaffolding, ladders, and safety barriers in accordance with health and safety regulations.
Measure roof areas accurately to determine material requirements and minimise waste.
Collaborate with other construction professionals to ensure timely completion of projects.
Maintain a clean and organised work environment, including proper disposal of debris and materials.
Adhere strictly to health and safety guidelines to prevent accidents or injuries on site.

Skills

Proven experience in roofing or related construction trades is highly desirable.
Knowledge of different roofing materials such as asphalt shingles, metal roofing, tiles, and flat roofing systems.
Strong understanding of health and safety regulations relevant to roofing work.
Ability to work at heights safely using ladders, scaffolding, or harnesses.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to plan work efficiently and meet deadlines.
Good physical fitness with the ability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods.
Effective communication skills to liaise with team members and clients professionally.
A valid driving licence is preferred for transportation between sites.
