Job Summary

We are seeking a vibrant and compassionate Entertainer / Activities Coordinator to join our dedicated team at a residential care home. In this role, you will be the heartbeat of joy and engagement, creating meaningful activities that enrich the lives of residents. Your enthusiasm and creativity will foster a lively, inclusive environment where seniors feel valued, stimulated, and happy. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact through dynamic entertainment and tailored activities designed to meet diverse needs, including dementia and Alzheimer’s care. Responsibilities

Plan, organize, and deliver engaging activities and entertainment tailored to residents’ interests and abilities
Foster social interaction by encouraging participation in group events, games, music sessions, arts and crafts, and outings
Support residents with dementia or Alzheimer’s by implementing specialized activity programs that promote cognitive stimulation and emotional well-being
Collaborate with care staff to assess individual needs and adapt activities accordingly
Maintain a safe environment during all activities, ensuring proper supervision and risk management
Record participation levels and feedback to continually improve activity programs
Communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members to promote a warm, inclusive atmosphere

Experience

Prior experience working in assisted living facilities or nursing homes is highly desirable
Knowledge of senior care practices, including dementia and Alzheimer’s care techniques
Demonstrated ability to create engaging activities for older adults with diverse needs
Strong communication skills to connect effectively with residents of varying cognitive abilities
Experience coordinating group events or recreational programs within care environments
Compassionate approach with a genuine interest in enhancing residents’ quality of life
