Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and proactive Driver’s Mate to support our delivery operations. This role involves assisting the driver with the safe and efficient transportation of goods, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining excellent communication with clients and team members. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in delivery driving or warehouse work, possess strong physical stamina, and demonstrate outstanding organisational skills. This position offers an opportunity to work within a dynamic environment, contributing to the smooth running of our logistics operations.

Duties

Assist the driver in navigating routes and ensuring timely deliveries to various locations.
Help load and unload goods, often involving heavy lifting, ensuring items are handled safely and securely.
Support with inventory checks and documentation during each delivery.
Maintain communication with the central office regarding delivery schedules or any issues encountered en route.
Conduct routine vehicle checks to ensure safety standards are met before departure.
Follow all traffic regulations and company policies during journeys.
Assist in warehouse activities as required, including organising stock and preparing parcels for dispatch.

Qualifications

Previous experience as a delivery driver or in a warehouse environment is preferred.
Valid <PERSON> driver’s licence with a clean driving record.
Experience with commercial driving is advantageous.
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently.
Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and clients.
Good organisational skills to manage schedules and documentation accurately.
Physical fitness to handle long periods of driving and manual handling tasks.
A responsible attitude towards safety protocols and traffic laws.

Pay: From £12.80 per hour
