We are offering an exciting opportunity for a newly qualified or early-career pharmacist to join our rotational Band 6 programme in Acute at NHS Forth Valley. The post holder will participate in our structured rotation, which includes clinical pharmacy services, dispensary and aseptic services. Clinical rotations cover medical, surgical, front door and care of the elderly specialties, with opportunities to work alongside our dedicated team of clinical pharmacy technicians.
We are currently trialling innovative working patterns within the Band 6 team, including a 9am5:45pm schedule over nine days out of ten, with a full day off every second week. Early feedback shows this model improves wellbeing and work-life balance, and we’re excited to offer it to our team.
Professional development is actively supported through the RPS Post-registration Foundation Pharmacist Curriculum. This curriculum provides a structured pathway for pharmacists to develop clinical, leadership, education and research capabilities, and lays the foundation for progression to advanced practice. The successful candidate will also be encouraged and supported to pursue independent prescribing qualifications where they are prescriber ready.
The post holder will also contribute to dispensary and aseptic services, participate in the pharmacy on-call rota for the FVRH site and support extended working hours as well as public holiday cover as part of the wider pharmacy team.
This post is open to foundation trainees who are due to sit the summer 2026 GPhC registration assessment. Successful employment would be subject to passing the assessment and joining the GPhC register.

Forth Valley Royal Hospital is located in Larbert, within 40 minutes of Edinburgh and Glasgow, and benefits from excellent road and rail links. Free staff parking is available on site.
Ability and willingness to travel throughout the area of service delivery is essential for this post.

As from 1/4/26, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part time hours will be reduced pro-rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
