About The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a General Practitioner to join our Healthcare team at HMP Ford, an open Prison located in Ford, West Sussex. This prison supports around 396 male patients, many of whom have complex physical health and low level mental health needs. As part of this role, you will be completing referrals to hospital and external service for patients who are reintegrating back into the community.

Hours

Monday 08:00 - 16:00

Friday 08:00 - 12:00

This is a part time role working 12 hours per week or 3 sessions.

Salary

You’ll receive an annual salary up to £125,692 per annum FTE - depending on experience.

What you'll be doing

Our General Practitioners are extremely valued and are well respected members of the Prison Healthcare community, as a General Practitioner, your responsibilities will vary. You will

Deliver first class healthcare to a diverse group of patients, and therefore as a General Practitioner at Practice Plus Group you get the opportunity to further develop your knowledge in areas you wouldn’t usually experience within a practice, or even A&E environment.
Provide clinical assessment and diagnosis to patient’s requirements and make timely decisions regarding future management.
Provide a highly specialist resource to other members of the healthcare team at site, as well as the patients you work with having active
involvement in clinical governance and effectiveness activities.

Requirements

MBChB or MBBS
Inclusion on the GMC Register and GP Performers List
Evidence of engagement with annual appraisal
Experience working as a General Practitioner in community general practice
Evidence of continuing professional development
Ability to work with patients with a history of substance misuse
RCGP Certificate in Substance Misuse 1 and 2, or prepared to undertake these qualifications
