Job summary

Are you a passionate and experienced Speech and Language Therapist ready to further develop your skills in an internationally renowned cardiothoracic centre rated as Outstanding across all domains by the CQC. If so, we want to hear from you.

We are looking for a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to deliver a service to patients across critical care, cardiology, cardio-thoracic surgery, transplant, and respiratory medicine. We welcome applications from current Band 6's and experienced Band 5's with a passion for transplant and cardiac surgery, with experience in acute care across multiple specialities, who are motivated to learn and progress.

Main duties, tasks & skills required

Key responsibilities include:

Promoting person-centred, evidence-based care within a complex cardiothoracic setting.
Case management and co-ordination across multidisciplinary teams.
Education of students, MDT colleagues and support staff.
Service evaluation and audit.

Management of a complex dysphagia caseload.

Knowledge of relevant swallowing and communication assessment tools and therapy approaches.
