Job Overview

We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Operations Associate to join our dynamic team. This role involves providing essential administrative support, managing data entry tasks, and ensuring smooth daily operations within our office environment. The successful candidate will possess strong computer skills, excellent phone etiquette, and the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking to develop their administrative expertise in a professional setting.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in admin, operations and marketing within the professional services sector, particularly within a dynamic accountancy practice. We aren't your usual accountancy practice, with an energetic and lively small team who really love getting involved. We offer an engaging and fun environment to work in, one that we hope doesn't feel like "work".

You will also have the chance to work with a diverse range of clients from different industries, enhancing your versatility and understanding of varied market needs.

If you are someone looking to get their foot in the door in a flexible role, this position will be ideal for you - it isn't constrained to "admin" as such.

We successfully placed six candidates in this role in the last year whom all completed their internship with us and went on to progress their careers with some great stories!

Note: Due to the internship funding requirements you have to be based in Cambridgeshire to qualify for this role.

Length of Internship: 6 weeks

Working Hours: 35-38 hours per week, but we can be flexible to less (min 30).

Work Location: At our Peterborough office, based at Tipsy Cow on Cowgate! You'll get a lot of free drinks in this role...!

Salary: £26,500 per annum (pro-rata to 6 weeks, £3,058)

Start Date: 1st or 8th June (but we can be flexible here!)

Duties

Performing data entry and maintaining accurate records using Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and QuickBooks
Organising and prioritising administrative tasks to support team operations
Assisting with document preparation, filing, and general clerical duties
Supporting team members with scheduling, correspondence, and other organisational needs
Ensuring the office environment remains tidy and well-maintained
Handling basic bookkeeping tasks and processing invoices as required
Contributing to process improvements by suggesting organisational efficiencies

Experience

Prior office experience is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for all necessary systems and procedures
Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Experience with data entry and administrative tasks in a professional setting
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
Good and clear communication skills
Previous clerical or administrative experience will be considered an asset
