Overview

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Butcher to join our team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in meat preparation, cutting, trimming, and portioning, with a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of quality, hygiene, and customer service. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a professional and fast-paced environment, contributing to the production of premium meat products while supporting the wider team.

Duties

Prepare, cut, trim, bone, and portion a variety of meats to customer and business specifications.
Maintain high standards of product quality, presentation, and consistency.
Ensure all meat products are handled, stored, and displayed in accordance with food safety regulations.
Operate and maintain butchery equipment safely and efficiently.
Manage stock rotation, inventory control, and minimise waste.
Prepare customer orders accurately and provide product recommendations when required.
Monitor product freshness and quality, ensuring all products meet company standards.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the butchery area, equipment, and workstations.
Work collaboratively with colleagues to meet production targets and customer demand.
Adhere to all health and safety, hygiene, and food safety procedures.

Qualifications & Experience

Proven experience working as a butcher in a retail, wholesale, manufacturing, or food production environment.
Strong knowledge of meat cuts, preparation techniques, and portion control.
Experience boning, trimming, and preparing beef, lamb, pork, and poultry products.
Good understanding of food safety, HACCP, and hygiene regulations.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Strong organisational and time management skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent communication skills and a professional attitude.
Relevant food hygiene certifications are desirable but not essential.
