Job description

Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential assistance to our clients with complex care needs, ensuring their well-being in their own home. Some of our waking nights involve working with another carer.

WE CAN'T OFFER SPONSORSHIP AT THIS TIME

Duties

Provide personal care and support to clients, including assistance with night time care needs such as bathing, food and fluids and monitoring.
Prepare nutritious meals tailored to clients' dietary needs and preferences.
Offer companionship and emotional support to enhance clients' mental well-being.
Assist with medication management and ensure adherence to prescribed care plans.
Support clients with mobility challenges, including transferring them safely from bed to chair or assisting with walking.
Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote social interaction and cognitive stimulation, particularly for those with dementia or other cognitive impairments.
Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by performing light housekeeping duties as needed.
Communicate effectively with family members and healthcare professionals regarding client progress and any concerns that may arise.

Requirements

Previous experience in a caregiving role is preferred but not essential; training will be provided.
An ability to work throughout the night keeping clients safe
A background in complex care is highly desirable.
Knowledge of dementia care and complex care is an advantage.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail are essential for maintaining client records and care plans.
A compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.
