Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and professional Pharmacy Counter Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide exceptional customer service, assist with medication dispensing, and support the pharmacy team in delivering high-quality patient care. The ideal candidate will have experience in pharmacy settings, possess strong organisational skills, and demonstrate a compassionate approach to patient interactions. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your career within the healthcare sector while contributing to community health and wellbeing.

Responsibilities

Greet customers courteously and assist them with their pharmacy needs at the counter
Dispense medications accurately under the supervision of a registered pharmacist
Manage prescription orders, ensuring correct labelling and documentation
Provide information on medication usage, storage, and potential side effects in line with legal and safety guidelines
Support with stock management, including inventory checks and reordering supplies
Maintain a clean, organised, and compliant pharmacy environment in accordance with health and safety regulations
Assist patients with general enquiries and direct them to appropriate healthcare professionals when necessary
Support the pharmacy team in administrative tasks such as data entry and record keeping

Qualifications

Previous experience as a pharmacy assistant or in a similar role within a pharmacy environment is highly important
Knowledge of medication administration procedures and patient care standards
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail
Strong communication skills and a compassionate attitude towards patients
Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Relevant qualifications or certifications in pharmacy assistance or healthcare are advantageous but not essential
