Full job description

Bookkeeper

We are currently recruiting for a Bookkeeper to join an established finance team within an umbrella services business.

This is a hands-on role for someone with good bookkeeping experience who enjoys working across a varied finance function. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month end processes and providing reliable financial information to the wider business.

Umbrella company experience is not essential, although experience within an umbrella, payroll, recruitment or similar high volume environment would be beneficial.

Responsibilities include:

Maintaining accurate bookkeeping records using Sage and Xero
Processing and reconciling financial transactions
Completing bank reconciliations
Supporting month end processes including journals, accruals and prepayments
Assisting with monthly trial balances and management reporting
Producing reports and providing information for senior management
Investigating discrepancies and resolving queries
Supporting the finance team with day to day finance tasks

The ideal candidate will have:

Previous experience working as a Bookkeeper or in a similar finance role
Good understanding of double entry bookkeeping
Experience using Sage and/or Xero
Strong Excel skills and confidence working with reports
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to manage workload and meet deadlines

Experience within an umbrella company, payroll, recruitment or professional services environment would be advantageous but is not essential.

This role would suit an experienced Bookkeeper looking for a stable position within an established business where strong bookkeeping skills and accuracy are valued.

Pay: £35,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
