We’re excited to be opening a brand-new SPAR store in Longtown, complete with a fresh butcher’s counter, and we’re looking for passionate people to join our team!

About the Roles
Our butchery counters are at the heart of our stores, offering high-quality products and expert advice to our customers. As part of the team, you’ll play a key role in delivering excellent service and maintaining the highest standards.

Butcher Manager
39 Hours
£36,965.16
Lead and inspire your team while overseeing the day-to-day running of the counter. You’ll manage stock, rotas, and standards, ensuring a first-class customer experience.
Butcher
39 Hours
£30,291.16
Use your skills and experience to prepare and present high-quality meat products, maintain food safety standards, and provide knowledgeable service to customers.
Meat Counter Assistant
39 Hours
£12.75 per hour (21+)
Perfect if you’re looking to learn a new skill! You’ll support the team with preparing products, serving customers, and keeping the counter looking its best – with full training provided.

A Few Things about You

We’re looking for people who are:

Friendly, approachable, and customer-focused
Enthusiastic and motivated with a ‘can do’ attitude

Flexible in their approach to working hours

For Butcher & Manager roles:

Previous butchery experience is essential
Knowledge of food safety (HACCP) standards

For Manager role:

Experience leading or supervising a team
