Senior Accounts Assistant

As part of our continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Senior Accounts Assistant to join our Finance team near Rochester Medway Towns.

We are looking for more than someone who simply processes transactions. We want a bright, motivated and dynamic individual who combines strong bookkeeping and accounts experience with the energy and confidence to work within a fast-paced commercial environment.

The Role

Reporting to the Head of Finance, this is a hands-on role supporting and helping oversee the day-to-day account’s function.

You will take responsibility for the core bookkeeping and transactional finance requirements of the business, working closely with Finance and our wider operational teams.

Core Accounts Responsibilities

Day-to-day bookkeeping and maintaining accurate financial records
Purchase Ledger / Creditors
Sales Ledger / Debtors
Credit control and chasing outstanding customer accounts
Supplier invoice processing and purchase-order matching
Customer receipts and supplier payments
Bank reconciliations
Supplier statement reconciliations
Sage 50 / QuickBooks processing
Supporting VAT preparation
Weekly/monthly reporting and month-end support
Resolving account queries with customers, suppliers and internal teams

About You

Experience is important, but so are attitude, personality and energy.

We are looking for someone who is:

Experienced in bookkeeping and day-to-day accounts
Confident with debtors, creditors and bank reconciliations
Organised with excellent attention to detail
Proactive and comfortable taking ownership
Energetic, positive and motivated
Comfortable working in a busy, fast-paced environment
Confident communicating with customers, suppliers and colleagues
Commercially aware and interested in understanding the wider business
Comfortable working independently while being a strong team player
Keen to develop and progress as the business grows

Experience with Sage 50, QuickBooks, Excel and Microsoft Office would be beneficial.
