Full job description

HOPECFI is a newy established provider of specialised care and support services for children with diverse needs. We are dedicated to promoting the health, well-being, and development of children through personalised and comprehensive therapy programs.

Job Title: Coordinator

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Coordinator to lead our team and oversee the delivery of high-quality education and support services to children with SEND. The Coordinator will play a pivotal role in managing the day-to-day operations of the provision, ensuring the effective implementation of individualised support plans and interventions to meet the diverse needs of children. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in SEND education, as well as excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.

Responsibilities:

Lead and manage the team, providing direction, guidance, and support to ensure the delivery of outstanding education and support services to children with SEND. Develop and implement a comprehensive curriculum and individualised learning plans for children, in collaboration with teachers, support staff, and external agencies, to address their academic, social, emotional, and behavioural needs. Monitor children progress and achievement, using a range of assessment tools and techniques to track outcomes, identify areas for improvement, and inform future planning. Ensure that all staff receive appropriate training and professional development opportunities to enhance their knowledge and skills in supporting children with SEND effectively. Collaborate with the Lead Manager, Manager, SENCo, and external partners to develop and implement policies, procedures, and systems to promote inclusive practice and safeguarding within the provision. Establish and maintain positive relationships with parents, carers, and external stakeholders, providing regular updates, feedback, and support to ensure effective communication and partnership working. Oversee the provision of additional support and interventions for children with SEND, including speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, and counselling services, liaising with external providers as necessary. Manage the allocation of resources, budgets, and staffing within the provision, ensuring that resources are deployed effectively and efficiently to meet the needs of children and achieve desired outcomes. Lead on the coordination and implementation of transition plans for children moving into or out of the provision, working collaboratively with schools, local authorities, and other agencies to ensure smooth transitions and continuity of support.
Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, legislation, and regulations relating to SEND provision, maintaining accurate records, documentation, and reporting as required. Promote a positive and inclusive ethos within the provision, celebrating diversity, fostering respect, and empowering children to reach their full potential.

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

Bachelor's Degree in Special Education, Psychology, or a related field and additional qualifications in SEND education or leadership preferred.
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification desirable.
Minimum of 2 years of experience working with children and young people with SEND, including experience in a leadership or coordination role within an educational setting is preferred. Strong understanding of SEND legislation, policies, and best practices, with the ability to translate theory into effective practice. Proven leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate, inspire, and develop staff to achieve their full potential. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, colleagues, parents, and external stakeholders. Highly organised and efficient, with the ability to prioritise tasks, manage competing demands, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Flexible, adaptable, and resilient, with the ability to respond effectively to challenges, solve problems, and drive continuous improvement. Passion for supporting the holistic development and well-being of children with SEND, promoting inclusion, and equality.
