Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to join our busy culinary team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of our kitchen environment, supporting chefs and kitchen staff to ensure smooth daily operations. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in gaining experience within the hospitality and culinary sectors, particularly those with an interest in food preparation and restaurant service.

Responsibilities

Washing, cleaning, and sanitising dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment to uphold hygiene standards
Assisting with basic food preparation tasks under supervision, including peeling, chopping, and organising ingredients
Supporting the cleaning of kitchen surfaces, floors, and storage areas to maintain a safe and tidy workspace
Assisting with waste disposal and recycling procedures in accordance with health and safety regulations
Restocking supplies and ensuring all necessary items are available for daily service
Supporting the overall organisation of the kitchen to facilitate efficient workflow during busy periods

Qualifications

Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality environment is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided
Knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen safety standards is desirable
Good organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
A positive attitude and willingness to learn about culinary operations and hospitality practices
Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Flexibility to work shifts as required by the service schedule
