Full job description

Reflections Training Academy is seeking an enthusiastic and professional individual to join our team as a Functional Skills/Pastoral Support Tutor, working full-time at our central Bristol site.

Reflections Training Academy delivers a range of work-based apprenticeships, adult courses, and full-time 16–19 study programmes in hairdressing and barbering.

This is an excellent opportunity for a tutor with a passion for Maths and learner development to support young people in achieving positive outcomes.

In this role, you will:

· Deliver high-quality Maths teaching to young people, supporting individual learning needs and positive outcomes.

· Plan and deliver creative, confident small-group and one-to-one sessions.

· Assess, track, and monitor learner progress, ensuring records are accurate and up to date.

· Where required, schedule workplace visits and assessments, ensuring the quality of training aligns with the Academy’s vision.

· Work closely with learners and employers to support personal and social development.

· Maintain high-quality training standards and follow the curriculum set within current awarding body standards.

· Maintain excellent communication and presentation skills.

· Deliver engaging, innovative, and creative sessions that promote high levels of learner participation.

To be considered you will demonstrate the following qualities:

· A relevant teaching qualification or significant/sufficient experience.

· Experience of delivering Functional Skills Maths to Level 2.

· A genuine passion for teaching and supporting learners to succeed.

· Willingness to undertake any relevant teaching qualifications where necessary.

· Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build rapport, take initiative, and support learners who may face personal barriers to learning.

· Ability to prioritise and meet deadlines, with good organisational skills.

· A flexible approach and the ability to inspire and motivate learners.

· Experience in SEN, EHCP, and learning support (preferred but not essential).

· A driving licence and access to your own vehicle (preferred but not essential).
