Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Vehicle Technician to join our well established and respected company. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of vehicles, ensuring they meet safety and performance standards. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise your mechanical expertise and customer service skills in a professional environment dedicated to quality and efficiency. Your own tools ‘a must’!

Duties

Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to identify faults using schematics and technical manuals
Perform repairs and maintenance on various vehicle systems, including engine, transmission, brakes, and electrical components to a very high standard
Utilise hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment to carry out assembly, disassembly, and repair tasks
Interpret technical diagrams and schematics to diagnose issues accurately
Assist with the installation of new parts and components following manufacturer specifications
Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs and maintenance procedures clearly to clients
Perform heavy lifting when handling parts or equipment safely and efficiently
Maintain a clean and organised work environment adhering to health and safety standards
Current MOT tester accreditation would be an advantage

Requirements

Proven experience with vehicle maintenance and repair processes
Strong mechanical knowledge complemented by the ability to read schematics and technical diagrams
Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other maintenance tools
Ability to perform assembly tasks accurately and efficiently
Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Good communication skills for effective customer interaction
Physical capability for heavy lifting and prolonged standing during repairs
Prior experience in an automotive environment
A minimum NVQ level 3 or equivalent
a full, valid, clean UK driving licence
To be able to carry out oil changes and small services off-site in our fully equipped service vehicle
Must have your own tools.

Pay: £36,000.00-£41,000.00 per year
