Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Sail Making Sewing Machinist to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating specialised sewing machines to produce high-quality sails, ensuring precision and durability. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where attention to detail and technical sewing skills are essential. Prior experience is advantageous, but training will be provided for the right candidate. The position is fully paid and suitable for individuals seeking steady employment in a specialised craft.,with flexible day time working hours

Responsibilities

Operate sail making sewing machines to produce durable sails
Follow detailed instruction for accurate stitching and repairs
Inspect finished products for quality.
Assist in preparing materials, including cutting fabric.
Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to health and safety regulations
Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines and optimise manufacturing processes

Qualifications

Previous experience in sewing, ideally with specialised or industrial sewing machines
sail loft experience is desirable but not essential; willingness to learn essential
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
Ability to follow technical instructions accurately and efficiently
Good organisational skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team
Basic understanding of health and safety practices within a manufacturing environment
