We are seeking an exceptional and motivated senior nurse to join our Health Protection Operational Service at a pivotal moment of innovation and development. This role offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to provide strategic leadership, drive high standards of clinical practice, and help shape the future direction of an inclusive and responsive service.

As Senior Nurse, you will bring expert clinical knowledge, strong professional credibility and a commitment to improving outcomes for all ages across all populations. You will lead with confidence and integrity, supporting teams to deliver safe, person-centred, evidence-based care across complex and fast-evolving areas of health protection. You will play a central role in strengthening pathways, enhancing quality, and fostering effective partnerships across disciplines and sectors including Public Health Wales.

We are looking for a leader who is passionate about improving vaccine equity across all of the Cwm Taf Morganwg communities, advancing innovative models of care, and ensuring that the service remain accessible, compassionate and forward-thinking. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who thrives on challenge, values collaboration, and is ready to influence meaningful change at both operational and strategic levels.

Be responsible for the professional leadership, direction, management and governance of the Health Protection Operational Clinical Team including the specialist immunisation team within Cwm Taf Morgannwg.
Support the Senior Management Team to ensure the highest standard of nursing care is provided, monitored, and evaluated within the areas of Health Protection and Vaccination.
Work Collaboratively with the clinical leads, specialist immunisation team, Public Health Wales, Service Manager, and administrative team in the planning, co-ordination and delivery of vaccine and testing programmes.
Be required to interpret national and health board policies and procedures and advice on the implementation of these for the Health Protection Operational Team.
Be guided by professional, organisational policies and codes of conduct and is responsible for their implementation in the service.
Support processes and audits to monitor the quality of care, clinical practices, incidents/claims, and professional registration.
Be responsible for undertaking investigations of clinical incidents, complaints and professional issues following University Health Board Policy and acting upon findings/recommendations.
Work in a highly flexible way in order to respond to changing clinical priorities. There may also be a requirement to work weekends and Bank Holidays in order to deliver a 7 day service when needed.
