The role

We are looking for an experienced Bookkeeper to join our team on a six-month temporary contract.

Working as part of a supportive and professional team, you will be responsible for managing the bookkeeping requirements of multiple company accounts. You will need to be a strong team player who enjoys working to deadlines and takes pride in delivering accurate, high quality work.

The successful candidate will have a strong work ethic, excellent attention to detail and a genuine desire to learn, develop and grow in their role. In return, we offer a dynamic working environment with industry leading support and development opportunities.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will:

Have previous experience working as a Bookkeeper, ideally within an accountancy practice or a multi-client environment
Confident in using Sage Accounts, Sage Cloud, Xero and Excel Spreadsheets
Ideally Level 4 ATT qualified, however qualified experience will be considered
Have experience managing the bookkeeping requirements of multiple companies or clients
Possess excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
Be organised and able to manage competing priorities and deadlines
Have a strong work ethic and a proactive approach to their responsibilities
Be a confident team player who can also work independently when required
Have strong communication and interpersonal skills
Be comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Demonstrate a willingness to learn and develop professionally
Have good IT skills and experience using bookkeeping and accounting software

Key Responsibilities

Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records for multiple clients
Processing purchase and sales invoices
Completing bank and credit card reconciliations
Maintaining purchase and sales ledgers
Preparing and submitting VAT returns
Processing financial transactions accurately and efficiently
Liaising with clients to obtain information and resolve bookkeeping queries
Working closely with colleagues across the practice to meet client deadlines
Ensuring all work is completed accurately and in accordance with relevant procedures and regulations
Supporting the wider accounts team as required
