Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and organised Dental Receptionist/Decontamination Assistant to join our dental practice.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing patient appointments, answering telephone enquiries, completing administrative tasks, providing excellent customer service, and completing staff training when required. They will also assist with decontamination procedures (following training) to carry out sterilization of dental instruments and to ensure a safe and efficient clinical environment. This role offers an opportunity to work within a supportive team in a busy dental setting, contributing to patient care and practice operations.

Duties

Greeting patients warmly and checking them in for appointments
Managing appointment scheduling and confirming upcoming visits
Handling patient enquiries both face-to-face and via telephone
Maintaining accurate patient records and administrative documentation
Assisting with sterilisation and decontamination of dental instruments following strict health and safety protocols (training will be provided)
Ensuring the clinical area is clean, organised, and compliant with infection control standards
Supporting the dental team with administrative tasks as required
Assisting with general reception duties including billing, payments, and diary management

Experience

Previous administrative experience is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided
Experience working in a healthcare or dental environment is desirable
Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

This role requires a professional attitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of hygiene and patient care. The position offers an engaging work environment where you can develop your skills within the healthcare sector.

Hours

We are looking for someone to work 3 days a week (21.75 hours) with the flexibility to work alternate days on a fortnightly basis.

Week One: Tuesday / Wednesday / Thursday

Week Two: Tuesday / Wednesday / Friday

Working hours: 8.45am to 5pm ( 1 hour lunch break)

Work Location: In person
