At Flour Pot Bakery, we are passionate about crafting high-quality artisan bread using traditional methods and the finest ingredients. Our focus is on slow fermentation, natural sourdoughs, and hand-shaped loaves that celebrate time-honoured baking techniques. We take pride in delivering exceptional products to the local area every day for both our shops and wholesale customer basis.

Role Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Artisan Baker to join our team. This role is ideal for someone with a genuine passion for sourdough and traditional bread-making processes. You will be responsible for producing a range of handcrafted breads/buns, maintaining consistency and quality, and upholding the bakery’s reputation for excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare, mix, and bake a variety of artisan breads, sourdough and bun products
Maintain and feed sourdough starters, ensuring optimal fermentation
Shape dough by hand using traditional techniques
Monitor fermentation, proofing, and baking processes to achieve consistent results
Operate and maintain bakery equipment safely and efficiently
Ensure all products meet quality and presentation standards
Manage ingredient stocks and assist with ordering when required
Maintain a clean, organised, and food-safe working environment
Collaborate with the team to develop new recipes and seasonal products

Skills & Experience:

Proven experience in artisan bread baking, particularly sourdough
Strong understanding of fermentation, hydration, and dough handling
Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and flexible hours
High attention to detail and commitment to quality
Physical stamina to work in a fast-paced bakery environment
A positive attitude and team-oriented mindset

Desirable:

Formal training in baking or patisserie
Experience working in a high-volume artisan bakery
Passion for local, organic, and sustainably sourced ingredients
