Full job description

Kodo Gardens is primarily a garden maintenance company working in Brighton and surrounding areas two days per week and south west London two days per week.

Our aim is to develop and maintain top quality gardens by training highly skilled gardeners in both technique and horticultural knowledge. This is a part-time role currently 4 days a week.

The ideal person must:

- Have a great work ethic and positive spirit!

- Enthusiasm for plants and nature is essential.

- Some sort of practical or horticultural training would be ideal to provide a backbone of knowledge for the work that is needed for the job.

- Physical fitness is vital, however we are not looking for pure strength to carry and lift as this is not a labour job, but looking for an individual who can spend all day one heir feet and good stamina and also has a keen eye for detail.

- Be considerate and conscience around plants, clients and general public.

- All of our work is outside enduring all types of weather, including rain, wind, snow, sun, heat and cold. The successful candidate will need to work happily in all weather conditions and dress appropriately. After the initial trial and probation period, branded t-shirts and hoodies, trousers, personal hand tools will be provided.

- Have an eagerness to learn as much as possible about plants and develop their gardening skills.

- Have a Driving license

- Have good time keeping.

What will be involved:

Initially…

Weeding

Helping to tidy and clean green waste

Lawn mowing

Basic pruning

Helping load and unload tools before and after jobs

With more experience…

Use of the strimmmer.

More detailed pruning as well as using hedge trimmers.

Planting

Work on ladders.

Job Type: Part-time
