About The Role
As an Operations Coordinator, you'll play a key role in the day-to-day running of our vehicle yard, helping to coordinate the movement of vehicles across the site and supporting the Operations Assistants to keep work flowing efficiently.
This is a hands-on operational role, not an office-based administration position. You'll spend most of your time out in the yard, working alongside the operational team, coordinating vehicle movements, driving vehicles between departments and ensuring customer processes are followed.
You'll also use handheld technology and internal systems to keep vehicle records accurate, but the focus of the role is supporting the smooth running of the operation.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Coordinating the day-to-day movement of vehicles around the site.
-
Supporting Operations Assistants by helping prioritise workloads and vehicle movements.
-
Receiving vehicles onto site and ensuring they are processed correctly.
-
Carrying out vehicle inspections and reporting any transport damage.
-
Ensuring vehicles are stored in the correct locations and are available when required.
-
Driving vehicles safely between operational departments.
-
Updating vehicle records using handheld devices and internal systems.
-
Storing customer items securely and ensuring they are returned to the correct vehicle.
-
Dispatching vehicles in line with customer requirements.
-
Carrying out vehicle fuelling and jump-starting where required (full training provided).
-
Following all Health, Safety and Environmental procedures.
-
Working closely with colleagues to ensure vehicles move efficiently through each stage of the preparation process.
-
Supporting the wider yard operation with other operational tasks as required.
What We’re Looking For
We're looking for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced operational environment and is happy to be hands-on as part of the team.
You'll ideally have:
-
Strong organisational and communication skills.
-
The ability to prioritise tasks and adapt to changing operational demands.
-
Confidence using handheld technology and basic computer systems.
-
Good attention to detail.
-
A practical approach and willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
-
A good level of physical fitness, as manual handling forms part of the role.
-
A full UK driving licence, with confidence driving a range of vehicles on site.
-
Previous experience in vehicle operations, logistics, transport, warehouse, automotive or yard-based environments would be beneficial, although full training will be provided.
Please note: This role is primarily based outdoors in our operational vehicle yard. It is not a desk-based or office administration role.
