What you’ll do
We’re looking for a proactive and enthusiastic Legal Support Assistant (LSA) to join our busy Court of Protection team on a full-time basis in our Bristol office. As an important member of the Trusts and Estates department, you’ll provide efficient, professional PA and secretarial support to your assigned fee earners, helping to ensure an excellent service is delivered to clients.
The Court of Protection team supports vulnerable clients and their families in managing financial affairs where individuals are unable to do so themselves. The work is varied, rewarding and often involves building relationships with clients and third parties to help ensure their affairs are managed smoothly and effectively.
In addition to your primary responsibilities within the Court of Protection team, you will also provide occasional support to our Trusts & Estates team, assisting with a range of private client matters including Wills, Probate, estate administration, Lasting Powers of Attorney, trusts and estate planning.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include diary management, digital dictation and the preparation of correspondence, alongside document production and formatting, arranging travel and processing expenses. You’ll work closely with colleagues across both teams, liaising with a variety of internal support functions and assisting other LSAs and fee earners when needed to help ensure work is delivered efficiently and to a high standard.
Who you are
Previous experience as an LSA or in a strong administrative role would be beneficial, and experience within a legal environment would be an advantage, though it is not essential. What matters most is that you bring enthusiasm, excellent organisational skills and a proactive, positive approach to your work.
You’ll thrive in a busy team environment while also feeling confident managing your own workload and priorities. Professionalism, discretion and the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information are essential, particularly given the nature of Court of Protection and private client work.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills will enable you to build effective relationships with colleagues, clients and external contacts. A flexible and collaborative attitude will also be important as you provide support across both the Court of Protection and Trusts & Estates teams.
This role is hybrid, with some flexibility to work from home; however, the ability to commute to Bristol city centre is essential.
