Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Gardener to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for horticulture and a strong understanding of plant care, landscape maintenance, and gardening techniques. This role involves working outdoors to maintain and enhance the beauty of various gardens and landscapes, ensuring that all plants are healthy and thriving.

This is a temporary contract with the possibility to go full time for the right person.

Immediate start needed.

Duties

Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively for various gardening tasks, including planting, pruning, and weeding.
Implement irrigation systems to ensure optimal watering of plants and maintain soil health.
Conduct regular inspections of garden areas to identify any issues such as pests or diseases and take appropriate action.
Assist in the design and layout of new garden areas, incorporating knowledge of horticulture to select suitable plants.
Maintain landscape features, including lawns, flower beds, and shrubs, ensuring they are kept tidy and healthy.
Collaborate with team members to ensure all gardening tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard.
Willing and able to work in all weathers.
We will consider zero experience for the right candidate willing to learn.

Experience

Proven experience in gardening or landscape maintenance is preferred.
Familiarity with horticultural practices and principles is essential.
Experience with irrigation systems is advantageous.
Ability to operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
A background in growing plants or managing gardens will be beneficial.
