Summary

As an Assistant Manager at Lynwood & Co, you will play a vital role in ensuring our café operates smoothly while delivering exceptional service to our customers. Located in the heart of the community, you will help maintain our reputation as a welcoming space that values generosity and quality.

Key Responsibilities

Support the Café Manager with daily operations, including opening and closing, stock control, ordering, and maintaining health and safety standards.
Lead, train, and support team members to deliver excellent service, high-quality food and drink, and a positive working environment.
Manage staffing levels effectively in line with sales, labour targets, and operational needs, responding proactively to schedule changes.
Ensure food safety procedures are followed and that all food and beverages meet company quality standards.
Provide outstanding customer service by creating a welcoming atmosphere, resolving queries, and handling concerns professionally.
Support conflict resolution with staff and customers when needed, leading by example at all times.
Monitor sales, assist with cash handling, and support basic financial reporting.
Work across all café sections, including barista and kitchen duties, to maintain smooth service and high standards.
Collaborate with management on promotions, events, and community initiatives that support the Lynwood & Co brand.
Report and help resolve maintenance issues by following company procedures and using the correct contacts and workflow sheets.

Requirements

Proven experience in a restaurant or café environment, with working a minimum of a supervisory role.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations is essential.
Excellent communication skills for interacting with customers and staff alike.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
