Full job description

Job Title: Hotel Receptionist

Location: Cricklade Hotel & Spa, Cricklade, Wiltshire

Hours: 40 hours per week, including weekends, bank holidays and evenings on a rota basis

Reports To: Reception Manager

About the Role

We are looking for a friendly, professional and enthusiastic Receptionist to join our Front Office team. As the first point of contact for our guests, you will play a key role in creating a warm welcome and ensuring every guest enjoys an exceptional experience throughout their stay.

Key Responsibilities

Welcome guests with a warm and professional manner.
Complete guest check-ins and check-outs efficiently.
Answer telephone and email enquiries promptly.
Process room reservations and amendments.
Handle guest requests and resolve any issues professionally.
Promote hotel facilities, including the restaurant, spa, leisure club and events.
Take payments and balance daily transactions.
Maintain accurate guest records using the hotel's Property Management System.
Liaise with Housekeeping, Maintenance and Food & Beverage departments to ensure excellent guest service.
Assist with conference, wedding and leisure enquiries when required.
Ensure the reception area remains clean, organised and welcoming.
Follow hotel security procedures and data protection requirements.
Support the Manager on Duty with operational tasks as required.

Skills & Experience

Essential

Excellent customer service skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Good computer literacy.
Ability to work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
Smart, professional appearance.
Flexible approach to working shifts.

Desirable

Previous hotel reception or hospitality experience.
Experience using hotel booking systems (e.g. Guestline, Opera or similar).
Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Cash handling experience.

Personal Qualities

Friendly and approachable.
Reliable and punctual.
Organised and able to multitask.
Positive attitude and team player.
Calm and professional when dealing with guest concerns.
Passionate about delivering excellent customer service.
