Full job description

MUST HAVE WELDING EXPERIENCE

Job description

Main Duties and Responsibilities

· Prime responsibility is to weld, fabricate and linish all components from job cards, working to manufacturing lists and drawings to meet Quality standards as required by the company

· Collect and collate all materials and assembly jigs

· Ensure all jobs are fully welded ready to handover to the next department

· Daily machine total preventative maintenance checks

· All jigs used to be returned to the correct racks

· Ensure all hand tools are kept on the correct shadow boards

· Bring to the attention of the Team leader any non-conforming items or practices

· Adhere to any current quality operating procedures, an up to date copy will be retained by the Operations Director

· Communication across all departments to ensure products hit the required lead time and each team are kept in the loop with any delays

· Excellent housekeeping to be adhered to at all times

- Basic IT skills to use portal

- Ability to write how to guides, an advantage

Key Skills & Experience

· Good knowledge of how a welding department works

· Numerate and literate with clear communication skills – able to interpret measurements

· Time management skills

· Attention to detail and high level of accuracy

· Effective verbal and listening communication skills

· Ability to work in a team environment

· Ability to prioritise and work to deadlines

· Organisational skills essential

Qualifications

· Educated to GCSE Level or equivalent (to include Maths and English)

· First Aid, Fire Marshall Qualification Desirable but we can offer courses for these

7:45-4:45pm (finish 12:45pm on Fridays)

Early finish on Friday’s

28 days holiday (to include standard 8 statutory and other public holidays and 20 days’ normal holiday in each holiday year, from this entitlement, you must reserve annual leave to cover any periods during which we close down during the year).

Holiday entitlement rises from the beginning of year 2 of your employment, your holiday will increase by 2 days to 30 days per annum, total (22 days’ annual leave plus 8 statutory holidays, from this entitlement, you must reserve annual leave to cover any periods during which we close down during the year).

After 10 years continuous, your holiday will increase to 31 days in each holiday year, which includes all statutory and public holidays (23 day’s annual leave plus 8 statutory holidays, from this entitlement, you must reserve annual leave to cover any periods during which we close down during the year).
