Accounts Assistant (Temporary – Initial 6-Month Contract)

Location: Café Deli Wholesale Ltd

Job Type: Full-time, Fixed-Term (Initial 6 Months)

Salary: £24,000–£27,000 per annum (pro rata), depending on experience

About Us

Café Deli Wholesale Ltd is a growing food wholesale business supplying quality products to cafés, restaurants, and hospitality customers. We are looking for a motivated and organised Junior Accounts Assistant to join our finance team on an initial six-month fixed-term contract.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with some previous accounts or finance administration experience who is looking to build their skills in a supportive and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Enter purchase invoices and sales invoices into the accounting system.
Match invoices to delivery notes and purchase orders.
Assist with filing, scanning, and maintaining financial records.
Help reconcile supplier statements.
Support the finance team with bank reconciliations and general bookkeeping tasks.
Assist with customer and supplier account queries.
Prepare paperwork and reports as required.
Carry out general administrative duties to support the finance department.

About You

Some previous experience in an accounts, bookkeeping, or finance administration role.
Good numerical skills and attention to detail.
Basic understanding of accounting processes and financial records.
Comfortable using Microsoft Excel.
Experience using Xero would be an advantage.
Well organised, reliable, and able to manage your workload effectively.
Good communication skills and a positive, team-oriented approach.
Eager to learn and develop your accounting knowledge.
