Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Roofer to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining roofing systems on a variety of residential and commercial buildings. This role requires a strong understanding of roofing techniques, safety procedures, and the ability to work at heights. The position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with construction experience who are looking to specialise in roofing, with the potential for career progression within our organisation. All roles are paid, including internship positions.

Responsibilities

Install new roofing systems using various materials such as tiles, shingles, metal sheets, and flat roofing membranes.
Repair and maintain existing roofs to ensure longevity and safety.
Read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and specifications to determine materials needed and installation procedures.
Operate hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication machinery safely and efficiently.
Use carpentry skills to construct roof structures and support frameworks.
Perform heavy lifting of materials such as timber, tiles, or metal sheets safely and correctly.
Assist with plumbing or masonry tasks related to roofing projects where necessary.
Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and company standards.
Maintain a clean and organised worksite throughout each project.

Experience

Previous experience in roofing or general construction is highly desirable.
Knowledge of schematics, welding techniques, and fabrication processes is advantageous.
Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, carpentry, masonry, plumbing, and heavy lifting is essential.
Experience working at heights and on scaffolding or ladders is preferred.
Familiarity with roofing materials such as tiles, shingles, metal sheets, or membranes will be beneficial.
Certification in health & safety practices related to construction work is a plus but not mandatory for entry-level roles.
