Job Description – Van Driver/Stores Assistant

Job Purpose

To ensure our customers receive the correct goods, on time and in excellent condition. To support the branch staff with administration. Duties and responsibilities are focused, but not limited to, the following:

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

General Responsibilities

To become a key member of the team and to be able to communicate effectively within the day to day running of the branch.
To develop a good, personable and approachable rapport with customers, representing the company in a polite, professional and friendly manner.
To work in accordance with the terms of your contract and the policies and procedures outlined in the Company Handbook of C&S Electrical Wholesale Ltd.

Specific Responsibilities

Goods Inwards.

To become proficient with booking in stock using the company computer system.

To Ensure that goods received are accurately checked against delivery/advice notes.

To learn Bin Locations in order to be able to accurately put away incoming stock.

Deliveries.

To ensure customer deliveries are made on time and accurately

To conduct him/herself in a professional manner

To drive within the rules of the law and be courteous to other road users, maintaining a good reputation for the company.

Customer Service.

Greet all customers on the delivery run with a bright and friendly disposition.

Maintain a high level of professionalism

During busy periods answer telephone calls, assisting where able and taking messages for other staff to deal with later.

Package deliveries when required.

Documentation

Transport bags on the link run

General Housekeeping

Undertake general storeman duties to maintain good housekeeping in accordance with the company Health & Safety Policy.

Disposing of rubbish and recyclable materials.

Keep working areas clean and tidy.

Ensure all communal areas are free from obstructions such as deliveries and packaging.
