Job description

The Headteacher and Governing Body of Awel y Mor Primary School are seeking to appoint a suitably qualified, experienced and highly committed individual to the role of Key Worker. This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of a dedicated team supporting pupils with learning needs and social, emotional and behavioural difficulties (SEBD) within a mainstream primary setting.

The successful candidate will:

Be experienced in working with children with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties

Have a strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures

Be skilled in delivering effective intervention and therapeutic support programmes

Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Be able to work effectively with pupils, staff, parents and external agencies

Be committed to inclusion, wellbeing and ensuring positive outcomes for all learners

Be able to work on their own initiative and as part of a team

Be resilient, empathetic and able to work under pressure

Be confident in supporting and leading other support staff where required

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting pupils, delivering alternative curriculum provision, monitoring progress and contributing to multi-agency work to ensure the best outcomes for children.

The successful candidate should hold a relevant qualification (NVQ Level 4 or equivalent desirable) and demonstrate a commitment to continued professional learning.
