Job Overview
We are seeking a personable and efficient Server to join our dynamic hospitality team. The ideal candidate will deliver exceptional guest service, ensuring a memorable dining experience. This role involves taking orders, serving food and beverages, and maintaining a welcoming environment for all patrons. Previous restaurant experience is preferred, but a positive attitude and willingness to learn are equally valued. The successful applicant will be organised, attentive to detail, and capable of managing multiple tables with professionalism. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity to develop skills within the hospitality industry.

Responsibilities

Greet guests warmly and present menus with enthusiasm
Take accurate food and beverage orders using the point-of-sale system
Serve meals and drinks promptly while maintaining presentation standards
Ensure guest satisfaction by checking in throughout their dining experience
Handle special requests and dietary requirements with care and attention
Upsell menu items to enhance guest experience and maximise sales opportunities
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of tables, service stations, and dining areas
Follow food safety procedures diligently during food preparation and serving
Assist in setting up or clearing tables as needed to ensure smooth operations
Collaborate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate timely service

Skills

Previous experience in hospitality or restaurant service is advantageous
Strong knowledge of food safety standards and food handling procedures
Excellent guest service skills with a friendly, approachable manner
Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tables efficiently
Basic maths skills for processing payments accurately
Knowledge of food preparation or culinary techniques is beneficial but not essential
Time management skills to ensure timely delivery of orders under pressure
Ability to upsell menu items tactfully to enhance guest satisfaction and sales performance
Kitchen experience or familiarity with restaurant operations can be an added advantage
