Shop Assistant

Role Overview: We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Fish Shop Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about seafood, customer service-oriented, and eager to contribute to the daily operations of our bustling fish shop. This role involves a variety of tasks including customer service, stock management, and ensuring the shop remains clean and well-organized.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service: Greet and assist customers with their purchases, provide information about different types of fish and seafood, and ensure a positive shopping experience.
Stock Management: Monitor inventory levels, receive and inspect deliveries, ensure proper storage of seafood, and manage product displays.
Sales Operations: Operate the cash register, handle transactions, and balance the till at the end of the day.
Shop Maintenance: Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the shop, including the display counters, equipment, and work areas.
Product Preparation: Assist with the preparation of seafood for sale

Qualifications and Skills:

Experience: Previous experience in a similar role or in a retail environment is desirable but not essential.
Customer Service Skills: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members.
Product Knowledge: Basic understanding of different types of fish and seafood is an advantage, with a willingness to learn more.
Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and maintain a tidy and organized work area.
Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods and handle manual tasks, including lifting and carrying boxes of seafood.
Attention to Detail: Precision in handling and preparing seafood, ensuring high-quality standards are maintained.
Team Player: Ability to work well in a team environment and support colleagues as needed.
Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as required by the shop’s needs.
